Year 7: Smart Cells Criterion C: Creating the Solution

Criterion C: Creating the Solution

Objectives of Criterion C

You need to ensure that all these strands or objectives  are made in your final product
  • Construct a plan, which describes the efficient use of time and resources, sufficient for peers to be able to create the solution.
  • Demonstrate excellent technical skills when making the solution
  • Follow the plan to create the solution, which functions as intended plan.
  • Fully justify changes made to the chosen design and plan when making the solution
  • Present the solution as a whole, either; in  an electronic form (Budget)

Strand 1: Construct a detailed and logical plan, which describes the efficient use of time and resources, sufficient for peers to be able to follow to create the solution.

  • Strand 1 of Criterion C almost look similar with Strand 4 of Criterion B. But, however, we expect your Strand 1 of Criterion C to be very detailed as I have shown below.
  • You are supposed to come up with a minimum of 8 steps for strand 1 (your production plan).

Strand 2: Demonstrate excellent technical skills when making the solution

  • Here is where you start the creation/making of your real budget while following your design specifications and the chosen design.
  • This (excellent technical skills) should be visible (clearly seen) from the budget that you have made. These are skills which you used to create the budget such as word formatting skills such as use of various font types, organization skills, generation of graphs such as bar graphs, mathematical skills such as use of functions to perform calculations.

Strand 3:Follow the plan to create the solution, which functions as intended plan.

In this stage, there should be:
  • Clear evidence that the plan/the chosen design is followed,
  • The final product (Budget made) should meet the design specifications and should be close as possible to your chosen design, and that the solution (Budget made) functions as intended, assists your client to solve the problem and is presented appropriately
  • Strand 2 and strand 3 will not appear in your word document because it will be visible from the budget which you will create in this criterion( Criterion C).
  • Only strand 1 and strand 4 are what you are supposed to type on Microsoft word/text document.
  • Once you have created the budget share the link to your budget or share the (Excel) document with the teacher on managebac.

Strand 4:Fully justify changes made to the chosen design and plan when making the solution

In this particular strand, you are supposed to:
  • Come up with a dated process journal with detailed screenshots while justifying any improvements that you made in your product development progress.
  • You mention those changes you made to your product (digital magazine) when you were creating it.
  • These are the changes (specifications that you added or changed and were not there initially in your chosen design/design specifications)

Process Journal

Your process journal should show the following:
  • Date
  • Duration
  • Place/Venue
  • Clear description on each screenshot.
  • Changes made if any

Example of how process journal should look like
